We’ve all been there. A pastor or worship leader says “I’ll talk at the end, just play something quietly under what I’m I’m saying”. You dial up a cool pad sound as the pastor talks, and suddenly they whip their head around, motioning you to make it quieter. You pull down the volume knob, but the frequencies still poke out and distract.
The Worship Pads Volume 4 Sample Pack is specifically designed to help with this scenario. All pads are reverb-saturated but controlled, with just enough movement to keep it interesting without being distracting. No more awkward moments or “talks” with your worship leader at the end of the service.
The Process
• While touring in 2024 with several CCM artists, I noticed that I didn’t have enough pads that were good for prayer times and closing sermons. Everything seemed a little too big with too much motion.
• I began sampling ambiences I found interesting that were fairly static. Sometimes it was the resonance of a piano, other samples were of street noise.
• I blended these ambiences with tonal elements, then used tons of external effects to create a non-specific stereo pad sound I could resample.
• I then carefully used EQ to make space for typical vocal frequencies, cut the samples into tiny bits, and created the pack.
