Introducing the O-6 Synth Pack for Nord Stage 3.
AUDIO DEMOS
All demos are single program files, recorded in one take with no external effects.
The Sequential OB-6 Analog Synth, beautifully sampled for the Nord Stage 3.
Joining the Minimoog (M-1 Pack) and the Juno-6 (J-6 Pack), the O-6 Synth completes the three defining sounds of analog synthesis. The impact Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim have made on analog synthesis is hard to overstate, and this collaboration between them on the Sequential OB-6 represents the best parts of both of their approaches to sound.
With this pack I approached it in two ways: traditional analog synth presets, with modern effects and techniques applied at a program level. That translated to some floor-rattling modern sounds built using the OB-6 samples, while it still being easy to scroll through more traditional-sounding analog synth presets. (see the video above for more details).
The Process
The O-6 Synth Pack represents the work of 6 months of tweaking and testing. Here’s what went into it:
Sold a sound system and purchased the OB-6 (these aren’t cheap! But definitely worth it)
Spent 5 months experimenting with the keyboard, programming it and using it live and in the studio with band like Apollo LTD, Sidewalk Prophets, and more.
When I finally felt I’d found the sounds that fit what I liked the most about the instrument, I began sampling. Finished, threw out about half of the samples that were repetitive or not up to par, and really went deep on synthesizing using The Nord Stage 3.
The end result is a pack that lives in two worlds: the pure analog goodness that is the OB-6, and the crazy modern sound of The Nord Stage 3’s synth engine.
115 Total Sounds.
Building off of the 15 core samples, I’ve designed a range of synth presets and programs to use, bringing the total file count in this pack to 115 items. Categorized synth presets allow you to quickly bring the sounds from this pack into any program with the twist of a knob, and the program files offer a complete patch for playing live. The core samples allow you to use the tones included to create your own custom patches, adding a whole new sonic palette to your keyboard.
Bundle Up and Save a Bundle.
